COVID-19 MATRIX (Updated January 4, 2021)
Symptomatic: 1+ Symptom, Tested Positive A student or employee can return to school when the individual no longer has a fever, symptoms have improved, and 10 calendar days have passed since symptoms appeared. |
Symptomatic: 1+ Symptom, Tested Negative A student or employee can return to school when his or her fever has been gone for 24 hours without the use of medicine. |
Asymptomatic: Tested Positive Students or employees who have not had symptoms, but test positive for COVID may return when they have gone 10 calendar days without symptoms. |
Untested: 1+ Symptom Untested students may return to school when the following conditions are met:

Close Contact (Family Member) Tested Positive If a family member has COVID, close contacts and household members should stay at home 10 days from the last date of exposure.Note: If family members do not quarantine, the student’s 10 day quarantine begins on the last day of their family member’s quarantine. |
Close Contact (Non-Family Member) Tested Positive If a student is a close contact, the student should stay at home 10 days from the last date of exposure. |
Household Member: Symptomatic Students and employees should remain at home while a household member is being tested for COVID. |
***Students and staff do not need to quarantine if they tested positive in the last 90 days – unless symptoms continue for more than 24 hours.
Updated list of COVID Symptoms (8/31/2020 )
- Temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or above
- Sore Throat
- New uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing (for students with chronic allergic/asthmatic cough, a change in their cough from baseline)
- Diarrhea, Vomiting, or Abdominal Pain
- New onset of severe headache, especially with a fever
- Loss of taste or smell
- Nasal Congestion
