Another Piece of the Puzzle – Your Estate, Your Impact

Did you know … you have an estate? Whether it be large or small, just beginning or well established, it comes from the Lord. It takes wisdom to manage these resources & relationships well. That’s why the HCS Foundation has partnered with the Barnabas Foundation to give you “cost free” access to estate planning experts. Their focus is on helping you discover God’s design for your estate so that you can guarantee a return on your kingdom investments! Learn more by visiting the Foundation link at www.highlandchristian.org

Did you know …. that God blessed the 15,600 volunteer hours invested in etc… a resale marketplace last year with 17% growth in profits? Or that He used the gifts and skills of His children to meet current needs at HCS to the tune of over 500 volunteer hours in the last 2 months alone? Christian education is an intergenerational call and requires the efforts of a community. Every person makes a difference!

Thank you for investing in HCS to make a lasting difference in the lives of our students!   This month please remember HCS, the Foundation and etc… a resale marketplace in your prayers.

1. Praise the Lord for grafting us into His family and allowing us to have the opportunity and political freedom in our country to enjoy this Christian education.

2. Pray for our families and staff as together we teach our children how to think and live biblically out of love for Jesus Christ.

3. Pray for wisdom and humility as we coordinate plans for the balance of this year and make projections for the year to come.

ACADEMIC NEWS

  1. In 2006, HCS received its first accreditation from Christian School International (CSI) and the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement.  As part of the accreditation process, board, staff and administrators must constantly evaluate and improve every aspect of educating students.  This year, HCS committees and staff will do a second evaluation to compare ourselves to a list of ideal standards, set goals and make school improvement plans.   This process is designed to help us sharpen practice and focus even more intentionally on achievement of our mission to See, Sense and Serve.
  2. As part of the evaluative process, the Board is asking parents and supporters to share their impressions of our school by filling out a self-study questionnaire. This questionnaire will be released in October.  After the results of our evaluation are compiled, in March 2012, a CSI site visit team will come to HCS to approve our School Improvement Plan and Goals.  The process is designed to assist us in defining the mission of Highland Christian School in terms of specific and measurable student learning as well as growth in student faith development. We are grateful for your support in this critical process and we request your prayers for God’s leading as we formulate our plans and goals.
