PARENT NOTE – October 8, 2018
“Run YOUR Race”
Hebrews 12:1

FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK
Welcome to eLearning!  Highland Christian School has been approved to offer eLearning when the school needs to close for reasons such as weather issues.  In order to prepare for eLearning, we are going to have a scheduled eLearning Day on Wednesday, October 24th.  There will be no school on campus that day.  Our goal is to have our first eLearning Day when we can prepare for it – not distracted by uncertainty about weather, buses, transportation and so on.
Here is what you need to know:
1. Work will be communicated to you through our onCampus system by 9:00 am.
2. The work will be a mixture of electronic and print activities.  The goal of the teacher will be to provide activities that as closely as possible reflect the learning goals for that day.
3. You will have 72 hours to complete the work.  For the October 24th eLearning Day you will have until school resumes the following Monday.  Your child will need computer access for part of the work which is why you have the three days to complete it.
4. Teachers will be available by regular e-mail and the onCampus system from 9:00 am until 7:00 pm to answer questions.
We will communicate further the week of October 22nd.  I’m sure we’ll find some kinks to work out, but if this system works we will not need to impact the schedule with make-up days going forward.
