 Immediate Benefits...Long Term VISION

Christian education is an investment we make in our children’s future.  It is costly, and for some families this cost may become an insurmountable obstacle.

The Highland Christian School (HCS) Foundation is striving to do something about that.  One of  the key goals of the Foundation is to reduce tuition cost – both now and in the future.  Your gifts to ther Foundation Fund enable us to help both current and future students.

Every year the Foundation gives a gift to the HCS operating fund to reduce each parent's tuition obligation.  For the 2009/10 school year the gift from the Foundation to the School is $124,730 allowing HCS to decrease each student's tuition by $369.

  Purpose

The Highland Christian School Foundation was established in 1985 by a group of visionaries seeking to keep tuition at Highland Christian School affordable for generations to come.

The Foundation Board’s purpose is to promote the long term viability of Highland Christian School by growing the assets of the Foundation and receiving, managing, and administering the funds and property of the Foundation for the exclusive purpose and benefit of Highland Christian School.

The HCS community recognized the importance of having a Foundation Board that would focus on the big picture and the long term strength of the school rather than on the annual operating issues.  The Foundation Board’s activities are driven by that long term perspective, and each of them is intended to assure the school’s continued existence as a strong and vital means of helping the children at HCS grow in knowing and serving Jesus Christ more effectively.

A primary function of the Foundation Board is to receive gifts – large and small – and put tem in a professionally managed fund whose earnings are used to offset some of the school’s annual operating costs.  That annual gift to the school directly benefits  all parents each and every year.
