100th Anniversary Celebration

Celebrating 100 years of God's Faithfulness!

Please join us for our final event for HCS's 100th Year Anniversary!

A Worship Celebration will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2010, at 6:00 pm at Faith Church in Dyer!  HCS Alumni and students will lead in praise and worship as we give thanks to God for His blessings on Highland Christian School.  Plan to stay after for a time of fellowship and refreshments.  A nursery will be provided for children 0-2 years.

Former HCS Band Students are invited to join an Alumni Band which will play for the service.  Please contact Mrs. Pat Menninga at patriciamenninga@gmail.com for more details.

The Committee is also looking for large digital photos of HCS Alumni engaged and working in God's world.  Please send your file to Jodi Lineburg at jlineburg@highlandchristian.org, along with your name, graduation year, and occupation.

The Heritage Room will close on April 16.  We thank all those who contributed items to our display.  You may pick them up after this date.

The 100th Anniversary Commemorative Book is on sale in the school office for $10.  If you would like a copy mailed to you, please send a check with your name and address to the office.

"Come and see what God has done, how awesome his works in man's behalf!"

  Psalm 66:5

Highland Christian Huskies Know How to Celebrate!

Our Centennial Dinner Celebration was a night to be remembered!  As family and friends gathered to commemorate our heritage and the tremendous blessings we share through Highland Christian School, each generation shared stories that resounded with praise to our living God.  As I listened, I remembered these stanzas in Longfellow's poem, "A Psalm of Life"

Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,
        Is our destined end or way ;
But to act, that each to-morrow
        Find us farther than to-day

Lives of great men all remind us
        We can make our lives sublime,
    And, departing, leave behind us
        Footprints on the sands of time ;

Let us, then, be up and doing,
        With a heart for any fate ;
    Still achieving, still pursuing,
        Learn to labor and to wait.
